Yearly visits aren't optional
Louisiana school youth sports require annual physicals, but the deeper reason for yearly checkups is medical: kids change fast, and so does what we are screening for. Adolescents in particular benefit from confidential annual visits where mental health, puberty, nutrition and risk behaviors can be addressed before they become problems.
